In a small paper library on an island, a mother reads a slim guide in an armchair under a warm lamp while her son stands on a step stool to take a book from the shelf.

Why we’re building Hikmah in Ottawa

A note on why Hikmah begins with one centre in Ottawa, and what we hope to build here.

Starting with one centre

We’re beginning with a single learning centre so we can do it properly: know every family, measure carefully and fix what doesn’t work before we grow. A method has to prove itself in one place before it deserves a second.

A city in two languages

Ottawa is a bilingual city, which is why our website, and the centre, work in English and French from the start. The founder’s note will explain the personal side of the decision in his own words.

One centre first, done properly.

The short version

What we hope to build

A place where every child is known, where parents always know where their child stands, and where children get ready for a world that will ask them to think, decide, create and lead. We’ll share what we learn along the way, including what doesn’t work.

What you’ll take away
